FLP-32 MODEL

Our FLP-32 model is our smallest folding model.

Welding shop made and built to last, the FLP-32 is a perfect upgrade from a plastic starter set pad or a plastic "E" engine pad. It will accept launch rods from 1/8" to 1/4". Made from 14 gauge 3/4" square steel tubing, the FLP-32 has a 32" X 30" footprint. Designed to handle rockets up through F engine power, but it still makes a good launch pad for your smaller stuff as it'll hold 1/8" and 3/16" rods. The 6061 T6 aluminum rod holder has twin thumb screws which hold the rods firmly in place, it pivots on a 3/8" pivot bolt and now tightens in place with a new welded
T-Bolt . Comes equipped with a 7" X 7" flat 14 gauge blast deflector painted with high temp BBQ grill paint. (Launch rods are not included). When you're ready to build and launch some rockets that are a little too large for your plastic starter set pad, this is what you need.

Our FLP-32 Model has a 32 X 30 inch footprint and is a much better choice than a flimsy plastic "E" sized launch pad. Capable of launching anything from an Estes Mosquito up to the big Mean Machine, and everything in between.

With twin thumb screws, the FLP-32 rod holder holds 1/8" through 1/4" rods equally well. Welded 3/8 T-Bolt holds the pivoting rod holder in place. Purchase the rod holder alone for $37.99, free shipping.

The FLP-32 model come equipped with 7" x 7" 14 gauge steel blast deflector painted high temp silver. The blast deflector has two holes that accommodate 1/8", 3/16" and 1/4" rods. Spare blast deflectors are $21.99.

Clean, strong welds ensure a lifetime of service from a genuine Knight Mfg launch pad.

Add an aluminum clamp-on rocket perch for $10.99. Part # RP-1.

FLP-36 Model

The FLP-36 model is our most popular model.

Our FLP-36 model is the next size up from our FLP-32 model. Made from larger 1" square steel tubing, it is designed to launch mid sized rockets up through "H" power. The frame has our standard welded angled ends with plastic tubing plugs to keep dirt out. The 36 X 33.25 footprint provides a stable base from which to launch mid sized rockets. The folding frame pivots on a 3/8 pivot bolt and tightens with a wing nut underneath the frame. Folds to a compact size for ease of portability. The rod / rail holder accepts 1/8" through 1/4" launch rods as well as 1010 series rails. The rod or rail is held in the rod / rail holder with a 3/8 thumb screw. Holds up to a six foot long rail.  (Note: an 8 foot long rail will fit in the rail holder, of course, but if you're going to use an 8 foot rail on a regular basis then go ahead and upgrade to our FLP-42 model. The FLP-42 has a longer twin bolt rail holder with a larger 5/8" pivot bolt which is better suited to hold a longer 8 foot rail securely)
The rail holder pivots on a 1/2" hex head pivot bolt with a welded "T-Handle" to tighten it in place. The T-Bolt is for convenience's sake, but the hex head of the bolt is still there and accessible under the welded handle, and on larger, heavier rockets you can still use a wrench for more leverage to really torque the pivot bolt down tight for safety's sake. Keep this in mind and use your best judgement.
A 7 X 9 angled blast deflector made from 14 gauge steel painted high temp silver is included. This is our most versatile launch pad for small to mid sized rockets as the rod holder holds 1/8", 3/16", and 1/4" rods equally well and will also hold a 1010 series rail. So you can launch anything from a small Estes rocket up to something like a Loc IV with this pad. The FLP-36 is our best selling launch pad.

The FLP-36 model has a 36 X 33.25 footprint. Folds open for fast setup.

The FLP-36 has a combination rod / rail holder. The rod or rail is held in place in the holder with a 3/8" thumb screw. Two thumb screws are included. A long one for use with rods and a shorter one for use with rails. The rod/rail holder pivots on a 1/2" bolt with welded T-Handle which firmly secures the launch angle when tightened down snugly. Note: The rail holder attaches to the SIDE OF THE PIVOT POST like shown here in the photo. Some of you are trying to slide the rail holder down over the top of the pivot post and that is not how the two parts fit together. Please use the photos here for correct assembly.

Simply drop a 1" 1010 series rail into the holder and tighten the thumb screw.

For some strange reason, inserting rods are a bit of a challenge for a small percentage of customers. First, replace the short thumb screw used for rails with the longer 2" thumb screw. Then merely insert the rod about 3" into the holder in the corner opposing the thumb screw and tighten the the thumb screw against the rod, securing it in the corner of the holder. See how the rod fits into the holder here? Don't make this more difficult than it is.

Folds up for compact storage and portability.

Thick 14 gauge angled blast deflector measures 7 X 9. Spare blast deflectors may be purchased for $31.99.
Get a clamp on aluminum rocket perch for $10.99. The rod perch works with 1/8" through 1/4" rods and provides a stable rest for the rocket to sit up off the blast deflector for access to hooking up the igniter leads. Perch is part # RP-1.

FLP-42 Model

The FLP-42 is our largest size folding model. Upgrades over the smaller FLP-36 model include:

1. A larger 42 x 39 footprint.
2. A larger and thicker blast deflector. Made from thicker 12 gauge steel and measures 8 x 10.
3. A longer, twin bolt rail holder to better hold longer rails (up to 8 ft).
4. A locking pull pin in place of the T-Bolt holds the rail holder securely in the upright/vertical position.
5. Larger 1/2" pivot bolt and wing nut on the frame arms.
6. The upper arm of the base is made from larger 1-1/4" tubing.

So basically, we've upgraded the new FLP-42 model by giving it some of the features of the old FLP-48 model, which is now discontinued. It's a 6" smaller version of the old FLP-48 that, due to the shorter length of the box, isn't hit with UPS oversize charges and thus ships for much less.

Thick 12 gauge steel blast deflector measures 8 x 10. Spare blast deflectors may be purchased for $34.99.
