I don't build custom launch pads because I usually don't make much money on these jobs. I find that it's almost impossible to get paid for the design / consultation time, blueprint drawing, extra email / phone calls and all the other extra time that always goes into these jobs. And, the end result usually renders something that won't properly fit into any of my shipping boxes and so I can't ship the job once it's completed. It is just much too difficult to try to conduct this type of business, custom welding work, over the internet anyway, because most times the customer can't provide a blueprint or drawing with enough detail to clearly convey just exactly what it is that they want for me to build. I need to know all of the dimensions and details before I start cutting, drilling and welding metal. Otherwise, I'm basically just guessing as I build and hoping that I'm guessing right. It's just a big hassle, as you might expect it would be.
Whenever you need custom welding work done, it is best handled at your local welding shop. This way you can meet with the fabricator who will do the work and discuss with him or her, in person, just exactly what it is that you want. Then, when the work is completed, you can go and pick it up yourself so that it doesn't have to be shipped. And if it's not exactly what you had in mind, you can take that up with them, and not me.
